On our way from Tabanan to Sanur, we are keen to explore Pererenan. This is an area which just get developed after Canggu. And once we are at Pererenan Beach road, it does feel like driving through Canggu 10 years ago. Stores started to show up in between rice fields. Behind them are rows of Villas. Origen Mexican Restaurant also follows same pattern. There are Villas under development just behind it.
It was not so crowded when we stepped into Origen. We suspected that this place is more crowded at night, as the interior suggest. The overall ambience is rather dark under the bright Bali sun. The menu confirmed it. There are more variety of menu for dinner than for lunch.

We ordered Bruschetta and Nachos for starters, followed by Quesadillas, and Mixed Tacos. I was not so hungry. Rather, I am more curious about Mexican Margarita and ordered one.
The food in Origen is the most authentic Mexican Food that we have tried. The spices is strong, but not overpowering. The freshness of tomato burst as we chew. And the Quesadillas moist enough to mix the spices. We compared it with a Mexican restaurant in Jakarta, which has operated for many years. The taste in Jakarta is more sweet than spices, which probably adapted to local taste.
It is too bad that we don’t have time to have dinner at Origen. Next visit, we will plan for dinner, where we can have more selection of Authentic Mexican Food.
