Cat Cafe Ubud Review

Posted on February 19, 2021 By Benny

If you are making a guess that Cat Cafe is the cafe where they have cat, you are right. In Cat Cafe Ubud, visitors can mingle with the house cat that live in the cafe.

Inside Cat Cafe Ubud

Cat Cafe Ubud is located at the southern part of Ubud, just straight south from Hanoman Street. It is located on 2nd floor. Parking for motorcycle are there, but for car, it might be challenging.

It is recommended to wash your hand before you get into the cat area. It is always good precaution anyway to wash hand during COVID pandemic. Once inside, don’t be surprised if the cat didn’t immediately come to you. They are cat, and they have opinion. Besides, if you come around noon time, it is their nap time.

“There are 3 cat cafe in Bali, but the one in Ubud is the first one”, said the staff. I have been to the other one in Sanur. The cats in both places are OK, quite clean and fluffy. The one in Ubud feel more spacious though, due to minimal amount of furniture.

I ordered a cup of coffee, and Ethan ordered a glass of chocolate. We continue to play with 2 cats that looked playful. Others are sleeping, or just lazily laying down, moving only to do nature’s call behind the closed door.

Ethan and the 2 cats. The one on the left is Veksa, less than 1 year old

“Those 2 are less than 1 year old”, said the staff after serving our drinks. “Cats less than 1 year old are playful.” No wonder, I said. “And this one is the oldest one in the cafe, around 13 years of age”, he said while running his hand over the cat on the counter.

We played with the cats and chatted for hours with the staff. Or, to be exact, Ethan keep the cat busy most of the time, and Grace was chatting. We played until we need to make our move in order not to arrive late to our next destination in Legian. We would love to spend more time here, maybe next time.

Maybe, when the time is better, after the pandemic.
